BlackBerry KEY2 teased ahead of June 7 announcement

Back in April, an image surfaced of what was believed to be the KEY2, the successor to BlackBerry’s KEYone. And while nothing was official back then, it looks like BlackBerry is ready to start teasing the device in a more official capacity.

The BlackBerry Mobile Twitter account published a tweet on Friday with a picture confirming a KEY2 announcement date of June 7. That event will be taking place in New York at 10:00 AM local time.

Unfortunately, the teaser doesn’t include anything of worth, save for the fact that the name of the device has been confirmed. The BlackBerry Mobile team included the key emoji, along with the number 2, giving us a confirmation of the KEY2 branding.

As far as rumors are concerned, the KEY2 is said to feature a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB-C port for charging, but otherwise we don’t know anything else about the upcoming smartphone. The physical keyboard below the large touchscreen will more than likely make its return, though.

Are you already getting excited for the KEY2′s announcement?
