Lenovo is teasing the Z5, a true all-screen smartphone

As bezels shrink, we see companies touting “all-screen” designs, with some reaching that milestone a bit better than others. Many still miss the mark, though.

Lenovo Vice President Chang Cheng took to Chinese social media website Weibo to post a sketch of the company’s upcoming Z5 smartphone. Previous rumors have suggested the Lenovo Z5 would boast a 95% screen-to-body ratio, and the sketch appears to confirm that. Cheng states that the upcoming handset will have four technological breakthroughs and 18 patented technologies.

Unfortunately, Cheng wouldn’t go into any specifics, so we will have to wait to see how it all shakes out. One of the other exciting elements of a phone like this, other than the design, is that Lenovo has previously stated that all of its upcoming smartphones will be running stock Android out of the box.

With a screen-to-body ratio rumored for the Z5, it will be interesting to see how a front-facing camera gets implemented.

What do you think of the Lenovo Z5? Would you pick up a handset like this, depending on the other specs?
