Way, way back in 2014, Samsung launched an Android Wear smartwatch, but since then the company has been using its proprietary operating system, Tizen, for its subsequent Gear S smartwatches. Now it looks like things might be changing.
According to a tweet from serial leaker Evan Blass, Samsung employees are wearing “Gear watches” with Google’s Wear OS on board rather than Tizen. Unfortunately, there aren’t any additional details to go around at this point.
Seen on the wrists of Samsung employees: Gear watches running not Tizen, but Wear OS.

It’s hard to argue with another Wear OS smartwatch out there, especially considering how solid Samsung’s smartwatches have been as of late. It would be strange to see the company switch from Tizen on its watches, though.
Would you pick up Gear smartwatch with Wear OS on board?
