Samsung’s cancelled dual-screen Project V smartphone leaks out

Word on the street is that at some point in the near future, we’re going to see smartphones with dual-screen setups become the norm, rather than the outlier. Samsung is one of those companies said to be planning a dual-screen handset like, and it looks like they’re no stranger to the design.

A series of images was published on Twitter recently that shows off a cancelled handset called the Project V. In those images we can see a device that boasts two large displays with a foldable design.

The Project V features a design that’s reminiscent of the Galaxy S7, and it boasts a model number of SM-G929F with a 3.5mm headphone jack, microUSB port, and physical home button below the display. There even appears to be a flash with the front-facing camera.

As the title suggests, the Project V was cancelled, so it doesn’t look like this is a handset that Samsung was planning to release into the world. With rumors suggesting we might see a new design at some point in the future, it will be interesting to see how that device is different than what we’re looking at here. Minimized bezels is an easy guess.

If you think this design looks familiar, it’s probably because it looks a lot like the ZTE Axon M, which was released last year and boasts a very similar look.

Are you ready for foldable smartphones to take over the market?
