Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium will cost $999.99 when pre-orders go live July 9th

Sony’s Xperia XZ2 Premium is coming soon to the U.S., but when it does it won’t be cheap.

The Xperia XZ2 Premium will be available for pre-order from Amazon and Best Buy starting July 9th. Pricing will be set at $999.99, and customers that pre-order from Amazon will get a free pair of Xperia Ear Duo wireless headphones ($279.99 value). The XZ2 Premium will launch on July 30th.

The specs of the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium back up its “premium” moniker. There’s a 5.8-inch 3840×2160 HDR display on its face along with a Snapdragon 845 processor and 6GB of RAM inside its shell. It’s got a dual rear camera setup that has a 19MP color sensor and 12MP monochrome sensor with an ISO of 51,200 for super low light performance.

Other notable specs of the Xperia XZ2 include 64GB of built-in storage, a microSD card slot, a 3540mAh battery, and a 13MP wide angle front-facing camera. This Android 8.0 phone also includes a USB-C port, but it does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Sony has been bringing its unlocked Android phones to the U.S. for a few years now, and it’s good to see that continue with the Xperia XZ2 Premium. This definitely isn’t a cheap device, but if its super high-res screen appeals to you, you’ll be able to snag one of your very own next month.
