At the beginning of the year, Samsung pledged that its future smartphones would be equipped with FM radio support, an oft-requested feature that Samsung had left out of its recent handsets.
A couple of months later, the company also confirmed that the unlocked Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ — which would have fallen in the category of future smartphones — didn’t have FM radio support. Samsung said it planned on adding support at a later date, and it turns out that that time is now.
As first noticed by a user over on Reddit, the latest update for the unlocked Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ adds FM radio support. That means, as long as you’re running the latest software, you can listen to FM radio as long as you have a pair of wired headphones connected.
It may have taken a few months, but FM radio support is here. Are you excited about its addition?
