OnePlus 6 Red is a limited edition model that’s launching July 10th

After launching in Mirror Black, Midnight Black, and Silk White color options, the OnePlus 6 is now getting a fourth color option: red.

The OnePlus 6 Red is now official with a bright red finish, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of built-in storage. It’ll be available in Europe and North America for $579 starting July 10th, and OnePlus says that it’ll restock its Bullets Wireless headphones on that date too. The OnePlus 6 Red will also be sold in India starting July 16th for ₹39,999.

OnePlus says that it used a new film coating process to give the OnePlus 6 an “amber-like” depth and clarity. This special edition OnePlus 6 also received an evaporated layer of brightening film to give the device a glossy, transparent layer that helps to maintain its bright coating.

As for why it decided on red as the next color option for its flagship smartphone, here’s what OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had to say:

“Deciding on this color was not without its challenges. We see individual colors as a way to express certain feelings or ideas. To us, red exudes enthusiasm and personality. It also represents an inner confidence and courage. There is a kind of power in red, which the OnePlus logo has always tried to articulate. We hope you feel similarly empowered when you hold the OnePlus 6 Red this summer.”

Having more color options when buying a smartphone is always a good thing, and this OnePlus 6 Red is a good-looking device that stands out from the other OP6 colors. What do you think of the OnePlus 6 Red? Are you going to try to snag one later this month?
