BLU today launched its latest affordable flagship Android phone into the market.
The BLU Vivo XI+ (pronounced Eleven Plus) is now available from Amazon. To celebrate its launch, the Vivo XI+ is getting a limited time discount while supplies last.
When it comes to specs, the BLU Vivo XI+ features a 6.2-inch 2246×1080 display with 19:9 aspect ratio. And yes, BLU is getting in on the notch trend. Inside that notch is a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash and 720p video capture. Around back is a dual rear camera setup that includes a 16MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP secondary camera for depth sensing, enabling you to take DSLR-style portrait mode photos with blurry backgrounds.
BLU touts that the body of the Vivo XI+ is machined out of solid aluminum for a more premium feel. Inside that aluminum body is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage. There’s a microSD slot in there, too, in case you need more storage. A 3050mAh battery is powering the whole package, and Qi wireless charging is included as well.
Rounding out the BLU Vivo XI+’s spec list is a rear fingerprint reader, a Real 3D Face ID face unlock feature that includes “Anti-Hack protection” and an IR sensor, and GSM support, meaning the phone will work with carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S. BLU has preloaded the Vivo XI+ with Android 8.1 Oreo, and it says that it’s working on an update to Android 9 Pie that should be released by the end of Q1 2019.
One other notable aspect of the Vivo XI+ is its support. Specifically, BLU says that its placing its commitment and focus on offering higher levels of support for its devices rather than just unleashing a large number of products.
The BLU Vivo XI+ looks like an interesting option for anyone in the market for an affordable Android smartphone, especially at its limited time sale price. It’s got several features that you normally see on premium phones, including the aluminum finish, dual rear cameras, and 6GB of RAM, and BLU’s promise of improved support and an update to Android 9 Pie is encouraging.
