OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei says the company’s next smartphone isn’t going to have a 3.5mm headphone jack, so it’s probably good news the company is launching a new pair of USB Type-C headphones.
Word on the street is that OnePlus’s next flagship smartphone is going to be the OnePlus 6T, and future owners will likely have a pair of the brand new Type-C Bullets wired headphones to go along with their new handset. OnePlus has officially introduced the new Type-C Bullets, which include the USB-C connector to plug directly into a supported device.
OnePlus says the new Type-C Bullets feature a new DAC that makes for higher dynamic range while listening to content. They also include a higher signal-to-noise ratio, and a lower noise floor. To help keep the cables from stretching and make them more resilient, OnePlus also included aramid fibers in the wires.
The important details we’re still missing at this point include a price point for these new Type-C Bullets headphones as well as a launch date. It’s possible OnePlus could be including these headphones in the box with the upcoming OnePlus 6T, or these may just be an additional accessory coming down the line at some point.
