best videochatting app? pros & cons?

When I first got my Epic 4G, I used Qik because it was pre-installed. At the time, I thought it was pretty good but it was more for novelty than anything else as I never really used it. I had the 450 min/unlimited everything else plan on Sprint and got the same plan when I switched to VZW. But, since I don’t have free mobile-to-mobile, I’ve been using Tango since it doesn’t take up my minutes. It’s ok but I’m hoping for something better.
Here are my pros & cons
doesn’t use up mobile minutes
free to use
video chat capable
easy to sign up

call quality is so so
calls drop often
can use up data if you don’t have unlimited plan

I don’t use video chat, but I’d suggest either Google+ or Tango. This sounds like a good topic for someone to really explore.

      It’s called a hangout. ;)

ahhh. i will have to try that..

I haven’t used the Google+ hangouts myself but I’m sure it is built on the same underlying technology of Google Talk (for 2.3.4 phones and above). I can’t believe how high quality that is over 4g on Verizon. Don’t know why they don’t offer a Google Talk audio only option for 3G connections…

Because then people won’t need minutes and will demand cheaper data only plans. Unfortunately, as big as it is, Google is still under very heavy influence from carriers. They can’t even offer Voip with Google Voice. It still goes through minutes.

i know.. that really sucks. i tried google+ hangouts and think that it has better voice quality than tango. but, (surprisingly) my gf isn’t on my friends list yet. she’s a new gf and not sure yet if i’m ready to introduce her to my social world until i know this is serious (maybe the 13 year age difference between us is holding me back – she’s younger)

Googel+ , Skype is not bad. Tried Fring a couple of times….but it ain’t that good! Out of everything I would say—-+hangout!
