Cheap Chinese android devices

I was just scrolling around aliexpress and I started looking at the Cheap android phones and tablets they had for sale. There getting pretty good lol :D. I remember looking at them not to long ago and they, where all crappy 400mhz cpus etc. Now im seeing alot of tablets powered by the Rockchip RK3066, this chip is a dual core 1.5ghz Cortex A9 CPU pared with a Quadcore Mali-400 :D!!. Thats pretty decent!

Then I saw this tablet Cube U30GT $240

It looks nice, thin, and is powered by the RK3066 and 1gb DDR3 ram. With a 10.1 IPS 1280*800 display with front and back cameras. And the price.. $242 with free shipping :D. This thing has better specs then the newly announced Galaxy tab 2 and its $240 vs $400.

here is a bunch more rk3066 tablets RK3066 tablets on aliexpress

I think this shows what the future of android tablets could become :D

You have forgot about shipping :)
    EMS $74.39
+ Aliexpress isn’t good place to buy such things.

I saw this tablet in other shop for 270$ (incl. shipping)
Also you can check SmartQ T15/19/20 tablets and SmartQ Q8 . They are with dual core Ti Omap4 processors 1-1.5GHz for 200-350$

The Cube U30GT i linked to has free “China Post Air Parcel” to the united states, and its priced at $240. It would take awhile to get here, but still. The SmartQ tablets look good aswell :D

    sweeeet thread thanks man!!

Thanks glad you like it :D! I think im gonna post a couple other interesting tablets that i found for you guys to check out.

For those interested in a 7″ tablet you guys might want to check the Ramos W17 Pro out.

Its $140 with Free shipping here

It is powered by a Amlogic 8726-Mx Cortex A9 1.5GHz Processor, which is actually quite similar to the Rockchip rk3066, it features 2 Cortex A9 Cores clocked at 1.5ghz just like the rk3066, and it has a mali-400 GPU but the Amlogic’s is dual core, vs the Rockchips mali which has quadcore. It also has 1gb of RAM, and all the other standard stuff :D

This again seems like another low budget Unknown brand tablet, that is worth taking a look at :D.

I heard amazon wanted to release a 10.1″ tablet, I really wouldnt be surprised if they actually just bought them from a manufacturer like CUBE and rebranded them under the amazon brand! Would be easy for them, and could sell them for $200-250.

I can’t wait to read your review on this.

As previously started, many have been burned when purchasing from AliExpress in the past. Beware!

I’ve also heard bad things about battery life on these devices. That said, I’m sure there are some that shine in that department – it’s just not obvious which ones do.

always beware when buying from less than reputable sites like this!!!! It’s way too easy to get ripped off especially when they’re on the other side of the world lol.

People will still trust big brands and spend alotta cash rather than buying from an unknown, unreliable and too cheap to be true kinda devices.

Take it from someone that has bought one of these so called budget tablets.

    They are not worth it.
I purhased one that has supposedly good specs.

The people always replied to email before purchasing. They were helpful.

So i took the bite and ordered one. I said it was cheap if its crap then it is something ill need to accept.

    It was crap.
Running on there T-processor a lof of application will not install.
A lot of google products will simply refuse to work for any unspecified reason.
The charger would work whenever it wanted to. Any emails to get a new charger would just go unanswered. ( plus a few other emails )

My first experience with a budget tablet was bad. Very bad. Now it is just paper weight. I am hoping to get a good tablet next time.

If you cannot afford it, get the Kindle Fire instead and add Cyanogen mod on it.

These Tabs I always worry about there poor display… Has this got a better display…

I’m quite interested in buying cheaper Chineses Android devices as well. I’m waiting for Meizu to launch their new MX Quadcore Smartphone in June ( It has great specs, and the 32Gb version will only set me back €320.- here in Hong Kong. I intend to buy my new tablet and Smartphone while I’m here. It saves me about 20% of the price each time, due to the Dutch VAT.

Chinese manufacturers are indeed more than a bit dodgy, but if you’re in a position to get some hands-on experience with the phone before you buy it, you’ll see that some have lots of potential.
