Google Accounts & New Devices…

I just bought a Nexus 7 for my father-in-law who lives in Turkey. I will be travelling there in a couple of days, so I’m in the process of loading it with apps and games etc. Only one problem. I think I screwed up. When I turned on the 7 I logged in with my Google account, since my father-in-law didn’t have one. So my account is reaping the benefits of the $25 bucks and magazines and movies etc…. I have now since created him a Google account, because when I hand it off, I don’t want him charging my card buying apps because he really won’t know what he’s doing :)

Question: If I delete my account off the machine, do all the apps go away? I don’t really care about the movie and books (he can’t understand english too well anyway). Or do I have to keep my account tethered to the machine?

Any help or insight is appreciated!

Yes sir, the apps will be gone; those are tied to your Google account.

In my previous experience, apps that are already installed will remain on the device after you remove an account. They can no longer be updated through Google Play, but they are still available to use.

yeah, I just deleted my account and noticed all the paid games were still on there. probably a roundabout way of side-loading paid apps right?

All of the free books, magazines, movies and credits belong to my account though (insert happy face here). The magazines are really crappy though. I haven’t read a real one (esquire, etc) in a long time, and I forgot how many Ads there are in one of those things. And they don’t remove them for the e-version.

    Thanks for the replies
