HTC M7 Pass or Grab?

Posted Dec 17, 2012 at 5:44 pm in Threads > Smartphones & Tablets

Aside from the threads being filled with those hunting to increase their rank, I’ve been focusing on these HTC M7 rumors and personally I think it looks like a great device on paper. From the specs to the design, I’m getting pretty excited. I’m just afraid it’s not going to be all that it’s cracked up to be. Any ideas? Do you think it will be a definite purchase? Or something we can pass on?

It might be too early to tell, but it looks like HTC is really working hard on this one.

I really hope they are putting everything behind it, I don’t want to see HTC bow out any time soon. If this phone has a solid feel and build quality to it, say like the Nexus 4 feels in the hand, then it really will be one heck of a device. I’m not in the market for a new device for a long time now but boy would I want to get one of these in my hands to play with for a while :)

My upgrade is due in February so if this is available, I’m all over this.

If it comes to verizon and is not changed like the one series was( droid incredible lte) I will be on board. I like what HTC is doing with the DNA and this is essentially the DNA with a little smaller screen, larger battery, and more storage which were two of the main things people complained about with the DNA battery size and storage since it doesn’t have an sd card. If this does come to all of the carriers samsung will finally have some real competition to their s4.

It looks like it really could compete against Samsung with it. Looks like it could be the flagship device for HTC if they handle it well enough. Hopefully it comes to all the carriers here with no change, and in Q2 so it can get some good buyers before the S4 drops.

Agree the thing that killed the one x was it was only on at&t. Myself and many others would have bought a one x over the s3 had it come to more carriers but you have to choose between the available options on your carrier, nobody is going to jump ship for a non nexus device.

Hoping the rumours are at least close to the truth and final device. Would be nice to have several world beating Android devices alongside the current leaders Samsung

HTC look to have this product bring momentum to move forward with this device.
If all goes well (from online reviews, timely distribution to telcos, positive marketing campaign and greater acceptance from the general public) it could be happy days again.

I would personally like to see increased after sales support and community development for the device, though that would also depend on how popular the device is upon hitting the market.

I know I’m looking forward to what HTC finalizes this device with, if it;s anywhere near what has been rumored or better, then I know what I’m going to upgrade to in May.

If someone “gifts” it to me, it’s the only way I’ll have it.

      Don’t like it?

This will be a great buy if it comes with a sd card slot and a switchable battery.

The way HTC is atm, i wouldnt hold your breath.

I had the one X, great device, best screen out, until the 1080p showed up. So much better than the galaxy screens, but the battery for a heavy user was dire.

As with all speculated devices, more details become available nearer to release.
And as with most devices we just will not know until released
