82 Reasons To Purchase an Android Phone. G1 for $97.99

Have you been debating on weather to purchase a G1 or wait for the next Android phone to come out?  Amazon has just given you 82 reasons to reconsider as they are now offering the T-Mobile G1 for $97.99 with 2yr plan.  The cheapest I have ever seen was $149.99 from Wal-Mart.

I was able to convert my brother from Cricket and his new phone is on the way.  With the recent news that many Android devices were delayed to the end of 2009, this may be your best chance to own an Android phone.  I challenge you to find a cheaper deal on the web.

Purchase your T-Mobile G1 for $97.99 now.

    That’s surprisingly cheap. And that title confused me, until I realized that 97.99 + 82 = 179.99. D’oh!

My contract with T-Mobile was up so I renewed to get the deal on the G1, and it looks like I should have waited. Owned. Still I’m glad I have my G1 now.

A co-worker and I bought our G1′s on the 8th. Has anyone succeeded in getting T-Mobile to refund the difference? So far we get ‘too bad’ from them.

I upgraded my phone this weekend to the G1 and paid $375 for it (that was with a partial discount). After seeing that they are4 available for under $100 with a new contract through Amazon, I was pretty mad. I called customer service and she said she was sorry but couldn’t do anything, so I asked for the customer loyalty dept. I am returning the phone for a refund, and getting one through the loyalty dept for $159.99. It’s shipped within 7 business days.

I’d stop recommending that people buy this phone from Amazon. I ordered one on 3/13, and just received my second delay notice from Amazon. The current delivery estimate is 4/13.

    • They were on backorder for awhile, but Amazon has them back in stock now. I can see reports from Amazon and a lot of orders were showing as shipped this week.

Did you get a black one or another color? There should be plenty of black, but the other colors might be in shorter supply.

the G1 is also available in Austria and there the G1 is only 1 Euro if you buy it with a regular 2-year plan. I am going back home to Austria in 2 weeks and cant wait to get the G1, especially for that price.

I tried to buy one on Amazon today and apparently because I live in a certain zip code I can’t purchase it :(
