We have seen several home replacement apps for Android that added new features, but nothing as radically different as Open Gesture. Hollowire is currently beta testing a new app that allows you to launch shortcuts by drawing letters, numbers, and pictures. Simply record the gesture control and assign it a shortcut, then you can quickly access any application or contact from your home screen.
A similar character recognition feature is planned for the next version of Android, code named Donut. It could be months before we see that update, but you can sign up for the Open Gesture beta today. Visit Hollowire’s site and enter your email for a chance to participate in the private beta.
