We first learned of the Motorola Zeppelin when it was included with the leaked Motorola roadmap and now the first images are starting to appear. After doing a little digging, we were able to come up with some limited specs. I believe our sources are reliable, but these should be considered as rumor.

  • Qualcomm MSM7201 528 MHz CPU
  • 512 MB flash ROM, 256 MB RAM
  • 3.1 inch capacitive display HVGA (480×320)
  • 5 megapixel camera with autofocus
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g, GPS, Bluetooth
  • Android 1.5 with Motoblur

As you can see, this device appears to be part of the CLIQ family since it features similar specs. Motorola is upgrading the CLIQ to Android 2.1, so we expect the Zeppelin should also be able to run it as well.

The Zeppelin has support for AT&T and T-Mobile 3G bands, but we do not know which carrier will pick it up. Please note that early phone specs often list multiple 3G bands so this does not mean the Zeppelin will ship with support for all bands.

It appears AT&T will launch the Backflip, so I’m sure if they will pick up the Zeppelin so soon. T-Mobile is rumored to launch a Motorola Android phone on March 10 and this might be it (or the Sholes Tablet).

Stay tuned for updates. Maybe we will learn more during Motorola’s 3rd quarter Super Bowl ad.

The Motorola Zeppelin.
