Sprint announced about a month ago that they would be updating their Android phones (HTC Hero and Samsung Moment) to Android 2.1 sometime in the first half of 2010. We have yet to receive any details on the exact rollout, but it appears things are going well. The update is already in testing according to a post on the official Sprint forums.
A while back we announced our plans to update our Android devices to 2.1 in the first half of 2010. I just wanted to follow up with a quick status. The 2.1 update is currently being tested and things are going very well so far. We’re still targeting the first half of 2010 and if things continue to go smoothly we should have the update well within that time frame. I’m sure there will be a lot of questions about procedures and more exact time-frames but for now I won’t be able to say much more. I just wanted you all to know that things are still on track.Sprint Employee
It still remains unclear exactly how Sprint will update all of these phones. They initially told us no OTA updates for Android phones, but the Hero did receive a minor update wirelessly. That was followed by a Samsung Moment update that was sent out the old fashioned way (drive your phone to a repair center).

wish we could get some love from Samsung for the Behold 2!
Yup, keep waiting till Q2 2010.
About time, right?
Though we’ll probably have a working 2.1 rom before then heh.
from what best I can tell sprint is going to put a lot of time into the success of the android line of products. They are releasing info to the consumers at an earlier stage than most carriers. I wouldn’t be surprised if I see the update before Q2, maybe March 15.
Sprint ought to concentrate on remaining in business until they can update to Android 2.1 !!
Maybe you should shut the F up….
