Welcome to Hell: Destroy waves of undead zombies

Android games are still in an infant stage, but they are quickly progressing. Waves of new 3D titles have started to emerge after the release of the Motorola Droid and Nexus One. Google knows this and has made it their mission to give away as many free phones as possible to any developer looking to make an app. We expect a ton of mobile announcements next week during the Game Developers Conference (which Google is sponsoring).

One new developer making the jump to Android is DVide Arts which has two games currently in the making. Their first title is Welcome to Hell which is a 3D first person shooter centered around zombies. The goal of the game is to “destroy waves of hellish undead zombies before they destroy you.” A second title called Crusade of Destiny is a full scale massive 3D RPG.

I’m always up for a good zombie shooter, so we will keep you posted on this title. When we get some more information from the developer we will share it with you.

Update: DVide Arts is hoping to complete Welcome to Hell by the end of March, but there is no official release date yet.

Welcome to Hell game features include:

  • Blood and gore delivered in stunning 3D.
  • Multiple weapons to unlock.
  • 3D sound positioning. Hear the horror come from behind!
  • High quality sound effects and original music soundtracks each with individual volume controls.
  • Multiple languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Polish.

[Thank you Ramon for the tip]

Sounds and looks sweet! The only problem with Welcome To Hell is that you know it won’t be any good with phones that don’t support mult-touch. Crusade of Destiny looks cool too but on the YouTube video the guy was using a N1 and it was skipping just a tiny bit, so I wonder how it will be for phones that aren’t as fast. And as for both of them you know they’re gonna take up a lot of memory. They still look great though! :)

My L4D reflexes were screaming, “Melee, melee!” And, they had better include some kind of melee attack considering how unwieldy the aiming seemed. I hope they tighten that part of the game up before release.

    That zombie game looks sweet.

But dang these phones need Dpads.

I mean, it just ruins the cool graphics having to swipe your thumb all over the place.. you cant see anything!

My last Sidekick, the 09, had a great Dpad that was actually the phones speaker at the the top.

It had a diamond-grill pattern on it that kep your finger in place. it worked pefectly.

4-directions. Atari-2600 era input man.. thats all you need- it would make a huge difference in Android gaming.

That zombie game looks freaking great

But I can help thinking these phones could really use a D-Pad

Well I doubt Google was thinking that this would be a game device, you have look the main purpose of the device, which is being a phone @Mobile

That’s practically what I tell people that have an ipod touch. They see me playing a game and say something like, “oh I think that so and so’s game is better on their ipod touch” so the first thing I say is “well can his/her ipod touch make phone calls? Didn’t think so!
