The HTC Evo 4G will descend from the heavens in early June, 4G mobile hotspot for $10-20 extra

HTC Evo 4G will be launching on Sprint on June 13

According to Engadget’s sources the inside dope from inside Sprint HQ is that they are homing in on June 13th as the release date for the Evo 4G. They are quick to point out that this isn’t 100% confirmed with June 6th apparently being bandied about as a less favored option, but it is encouraging that June 13th is the latest date under discussion.

It seemed unlikely that Sprint would let the release of their new flagship device slip behind Apple’s new iPhone, but it is gratifying to have internal chatter confirm that they are going to get this out on the early side of their previously stated summer window.

Sadly the pricing of the almighty Evo 4G remains a mystery; however, the same source revealed the 4G hotspot access would be just an additional $10-20 with no price bump to the standard “Simply Everything” plans for using 4G on the phone itself.

So with the last real unknown being the price, what’s everyone’s guess as to what the Evo 4G will set you back come the 13th?

    That is wishful thing brother.

At this point, I don’t think I care how much it’s going to set me back. Since T- Mobile won’t let me apply my $300 line of credit towards the N1, and doesn’t want to lock me in for 2 years by giving me the N1 at the new customer rate (no contract), I’ll be leaving them for Sprint once this hits the market. Kind of sucks, considering I’ve been with them for around 6 years (two lines). Oh well, their loss. Can’t wait.

Being that this is more of a competitor to the Motorola Droid. I can believe $199. I would be seriously blown away by anything less.

  • http://Website Manny

I’m willing to pay $300 for it, but I hope its $200.
I hate my stupid LG Dare from Verizon. I can’t wait to line up early at the Sprint store on launch day.

i am willing to pay $600 off contract. my guess is $599, in line with their current most expensive product on Sprint.

  • http://Website Kyle

I’m thinking $299 with contract at maximum. Its an awesome phone, but they’re not going to convince many people to pony up 350+ (on contract) for anything, especially if the N1, new iPhone, Supersonic, etc are lying around for significantly less.

  • Manly Man

I believe the price would be between 550 to 575!

    • http://Website drksilenc

no way it would be. they need this phone to be competitive. if its that much it wont do anything to push there 4g advantage. i realistically see it priced around 150-200. for the simple fact that sprint needs to grow in customers and quick before the iphone 4g comes out

      • Manly Man

I mean the price of it without a contract, drksilenc!

My question is when is this behemoth coming to Europe because am convinced it eventually will.Someone pls help.

I work for Sprint currently and the Instinct HD was released at 250 with contract and almost nobody purchased the phone. This is a far superior phone with more hype, so I would guess it to be released somewhere in the 250-300 range even though this is more then pretty much any phone with any company on a new contract it will be a huge release.

  • http://Website Leaving Verizon Soon…Yeah!

I’m in in at $200 or less with contract. Anything more than that and I’ll probably just get the new iPhone.

Iphone’s got nothing on this babe~ this phone is worth so much more the that fruit on the back of a mediocre phone.
