Isn’t just a version of Desire with strange back cover?

Aside from the looks, the Incredible has a 8 megapixel camera (instead of 5 on Desire), and 8gb of internal storage (Desire has I think 512mb or 1gb)

Don’t forget about the different multitouch screen. The Desire, like the Google Nexus 1, has some troubles with detecting multitouch gestures; the incredible should not have those problems and work flawlessly.

      Are you dense?

Yes – the Incredible is basically just the Desire.

So getting this phone!. Verizon plans suck!! Going to miss my tmo !!!! :(

Wow. Let me get this right. In America, where the consumer is king, you pay a couple of hundred dollars AND STILL have to commit to a contract of 50 dollars a month or more?

Depends on the carrier. Some have 1-2 year contracts and others are no contract or pre-paid. At least it’s not like Canada where several carriers have 3yr contracts. Yikes.

You can pay $530 for a phone and not have the contract.

It’s like buying a $400 netbook for $99 bucks with a $60/month service plan. They’re not going to take 75% off the price for nothing.

I just checked the Verizon website. It indicates that online orders will be shipped by May 4. I wonder if they are already short on inventory.

I want a Droid Incredible so bad!!!!

my big issue is: the blackberry has the ability to use it as a “hot spot” basically and piggyback a lap top or whatever off of it. the old droid did not have this. can the incredible do it? or am i still stuck with switching to ATT for an iPone or getting a blackberry?
