So despite having its full user manual leaked and being officially outed by Verizon it looks as though the Droid Incredible had just a few more tricks up its sleeves.
The most significant news is that the Incredible is going to come with 6.6 GB of internal storage; if that number sounds familiar that would be because Taylor had it pegged a little over a month ago. This space coupled with the available microSD slot certainly gives us a lot of room to play with and hopefully is the direction manufacturers will be heading going forward.
The second revelation is that the Incredible is going to offer TV out. Details on how exactly that is going to be offered are absent at the moment, but we will update you as we find out more.
Lastly the Incredible will offer a bevy of LED notification options as you can see in the image below.
So the Incredible just got a little more incrediblerer; do any of these features seal the deal for anyone?
Update: Alright a quick point of clarification regarding the internal storage; it is quite likely that the the 6.6 GB will not be available for app installation, but (as Anakin78z points out below) the phone memory which is definitely available for app installation is 0.92 GB which is still significantly higher than any other Android device on the market at the moment.
Secondly the TV out will be achieved through RCA cables, so no HD unfortunately. And finally while it won’t support 720p video recording at launch, but that could be fixed with an update.

Man, this phone makes me wish I would have held out on buying my Moto Droid. /sigh
As much as I am trying to hold out for the Motorola Shadow this might push me over the edge.
My wife has been complaining that she needs a new phone anyway, so she may get the “new to her” Droid while I trade up for the Incredible.
I’m feeling the same way right about now.
No matter what phone you get you will simply want a newer one in a few weeks. If this one has 8gb internal and what not then the next one which will probably be released soon will have 16gb if not more and be a 2Ghz model as Intel has said they want to put Atom processors and better in phones.
A vigilant point, but otherwise, a bit moot, to think that every 3-4 months we have superphones being released. If we keep on predicting the future, we may never buy any phones.
I say stick to a phone that caters our preferences. Specs get old, but performance in respect to your needs, doesn’t.
HTC Incredible Reactions.
Agreed. There will always be a new phone. Remember back in November our Droids were the hot thing? I’ve been enjoying it for months and I’ll continue to enjoy it until November. Luckily the plan I have with Verizon through work lets me upgrade every year at the 2 year contract prices
This phone looks amazing. This will certainly be the one I will be choosing if I win the Review contest
So is the 6.6GB available for installing apps on?
We won’t know for sure until we get word from someone that actually has the device in hand.
Doesn’t look like it. If you look in the picture, it says:
Phone Memory
0.92Gb
Which is different than Internal Phone Storage, which I’m guessing will be treated like the sd card, and mountable on a computer.
So, still more than any Android phone I know of.
You beat me to it.
As you say though, even if it is only the .92GB that is accessible for app installation that is a huge improvement over what anything else is offering.
Thanks..that is what i have been presuming…8gb would be nice…or even 4gb!
“The second revelation is that the Incredible is going to offer TV out.” <— neat. Hopefully HDMI!
“Toatal”? Wow, I hope that’s a render Verizon made, because having typos in this phone doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.
Good catch, I hope that it’s a render…
It’s just a shot from their training screen so it is quite definitely a render.
The LED notifications isn’t anything new. I have that on my HTC Hero.
In the launch package leaked by #Phandroid, it shows an adapter cable for “TV out” that has the 2.5mm plug on one end and 3 RCA (video, left, right) plugs on the other. I assume that it plugs into the headset jack, and sorry, looks like no HD video. But pretty cool anyway.
*looks at the 14 MB of internal storage left on G1*
*weeps softly in a corner*
Oh no Drew. Sorry for the -1. (I did that) I was trying to go 1 up. Not 1 down. I thought your comment was funny
Sorry, I dont want people to follow my lead and put 1 downs. It was a good comment.
“And finally while it won’t support 720p video recording at launch, but that could be fixed with an update”
When has HTC ever improved a spec on a sold phone? The only thing I know is when they allow customers to upgrade their android version. Don’t see that as HTC doing my phone better but google..
I’ll wait till nexus two so I am sure to get OTA updates..
It wasn’t on Android phones, but HTC unlocked GPS after the fact on a number of devices via firmware upgrade. So never say never.
Even if HTC doesn’t do it there is always rooting.
To bad it’s not a better looking phone.
