I can’t believe ppl are tripping over the 720p screen on other blogs. All it means is that it has the 720p aspect ratio (16:9). So there will be no boxing or slicing of the content. That was the whole push for having the 854×480 unlike other vendors who have 800×480 displays..

Yea, sorry, you’re totally wrong. 720p specifically refers to the resolution. That’s why we don’t call 1080p screens 720p, even though they both have a picture aspect of 16×9.

    720p means 720p.
    16×9 means 16×9.
either that screen has 720 horizontal lines of resolution, or that is false advertising…. “720p playback” would be open to interpretation, but “720p screen” is very straight forward and isn’t true of the phones reviewers were given.
…if it really IS announced to have a true 720p screen… that’ll be friggin’ great.

It now says “Captures 720P” on the site, not “720P Screen” like in the image on this post. So they are referring to the camera resolution, not the screen.

    Uh, wow…

Haha, same as you guys, I saw that 720p screen stat and rushed here to comment. It’s been swapped on the live site, looks like someone made a mistake.

Which sucks because a 720p mobile screen would’ve been siiiiiiick.
