Samsung’s lineup of Galaxy S phones has yet to hit the United States and rumors of a follow-up device are already beginning to appear. Unwired View is reporting on a device called the i9200 which they dubbed the Samsung Galaxy S2.
The rumored specs are out of this world, but the device is not expected till early 2011. Samsung’s Galaxy S2 is rumored to include a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display, 2 GHz processor, and 1 GB of RAM.
Who knows how reliable the source is, but this rumor provides another clue of what the next generation of superphones might look like. Motorola is reportedly working on a 2 GHz smartphone for late 2010 and HTC could launch the first dual-CPU phone later this year. If Samsung is serious about doubling its smartphone market share, then you can bet they have a competing device already in the works.
Rumored specs of the Samsung Galaxy i9200 include:
- 4.3” 1280x720px Super AMOLED 2 display
- 2GHz CPU, 1GB RAM/4GB ROM
- 32GB of built-in flash memory, +32GB microSD card slot
- 8 megapixel camera with FullHD video recording
- A-GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n
- 3.5 mm headset jack
- Accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity and ambient light sensors

Wow,a phone that surpasses a netbook in terms of speed. I give it until 201 so phones will match desktop in terms of processor speed.
I pre ordered the Samsung Vibrant which is I cant wait to get. I believe these rumors to be true, think about it. To outsell the first Samsung Galaxy the best way would be to double the specs. Toucwiz or not, I would buy that device.

As long as these new devices run stock Android I’m very much interested. Hopefully Gingerbread brings a change to all the skins.

@Dan…. Regarding the new TouchWiz UI, most all reviews I’ve seen on the Galaxy S has said it completes Android and makes it much more fluid. Everyone has said it in know way interferes with the Android experience and once you use it, you will not want to go back to vanilla Android.
only excited about 720p screen. should have camera flash and hdmi port. a qwerty version will be sweet
but don’t know why do we need so much processor power in a mobile!
But will the battery be big enough to support that kind of horse power?
Oh for crying out loud, I just got the Galaxy S and am very happy with it thank you very much. However, if that’s actually what it looks like when it’s released, and the specs are right, then I am definitely in the market for one of those.
Battery? Pah! Battery life is for pansies!
But seriously, they’re going to need to put something enormous in there to power it acceptably – the Galaxy S battery is fine (I’m not out of the constantly fiddling with it stage yet, and I’m getting a decent day’s use out of it), but this thing’s bound to need something far bigger, unless they have a magical massive improvement in power-saving technology coming as well…

The hardware in next gen of phones becomes a ‘solved issue’ after next gen. The above phone et al (Sabor and the 2ghz motorola) Are what Ive been waiting for years as aphone device. There is literally not much it wont be able to do.
Battery must be over 2000 mah + to cope.
It must have HDMI out or I wont take it.
If it has HDMI out and decent battery, I am all over this device.

this is fake, the russians who made the ginerbread rumour made this up again. What’s more the specifications are so akin to what they rumoured, which google denied.

So I guess the iPhone is now out of the picture huh? iPhones were cool….. as an iPod or MP3 player, but were never really that good anyways. It seems Samsung and HTC have REALLY BIG plans for late 2010 & early 2011 huh? This I’ve got to see – the rumored Samsung Galaxy S 2 (with 8MP & 720p) VS the rumored HTC Sabor (with 10MP & 1080p).
