Don’t forget: Austin Android meetup tonite!

Tonite (Tuesday, 8/17) we’ll be meeting downtown at Opal Divine’s on 6th St at 7pm for a good dose of Android nerdery, drinks, and food.

For those not in the know, the Austin Android Users Group meets about once a month, usually near downtown Austin, for a couple hours of socializing and light Android talk. Sometimes we have a specific agenda or guest speaker, sometimes we just hang out.

And while tonite is one of those nights with no real course of action, we still plan on having a great time with our ever-growing group of local Android users. In the past few months we’ve grown from a handful of users (seriously, one meeting was 3 people) to filling an entire room at Opal Divine’s (who have been generous enough to host our rowdy bunch multiple times).

Since the meetup starts in just a couple hours, I should probably apologize for how insanely late this post is. Instead, I’ll use it as an opportunity to scold you for not already following the AAUG on Twitter or being active on the mailing list. Because if you did (or were) you’d already be aware of the impending meetup and life would be easier on all of us. So, if you find this post useful, consider yourself scolded.

Note: Also tonite, a couple minutes after the meetup, I’ll be taking a few minutes to discuss a new project with interested developers. Austin Builds Apps is a weekly meetup group looking for a couple of skilled developers with some free time.

Second Note: If you’ve got an Android group building or a meetup coming soon in your area, let us know. We love keeping the community informed about local events!
