Samsung hosts “Get Captivated” SCVNGR hunt, $10k in prizes

Still not completely sold on Samsung’s Galaxy S phones? Samsung and AT&T are hosting a SCVNGR hunt in Minneapolis this coming weekend in an effort to show people the true power of the Samsung Captivate.

All you need to do is register with a friend, race around Minneapolis, earn points, and maybe even win a $10,000 home theatre system. Since you’ll be required to use an Android phone in order to participate in the SCVNGR hunt, Samsung will be handing out the Samsung Captivate to anyone who wants to give it a try.

The “Get Captivated” event will kick off on August 21st at 11AM in downtown Minneapolis.  We’re not sure if this race is a one-off promotional stunt by Samsung, but we’d definitely like to see them roll out the SCVNGR race to other large cities as well.  If you live in the twin cities area, be sure to hit up the source link to register for the race.

Maybe. We have family in town that day and then plans later that evening. I’m registered for it, just not sure if I’ll show up.

As long as they dont require you to use GPS on the scavenger hunt. Captivate GPS sucks, it just doesnt work at all.
