99 screenshot tour of Android 2.3

We got some more Nexus S videos and impressions coming up later today, but here’s 99 screenshots of the new Android 2.3 to hold you over. As you can see not a lot has changed, but there are minor tweaks throughout the different applications and settings.

We expect that most phones with Android 2.2 will receive an update to Android 2.3 in the next couple of months, so check out the slideshow after the jump for a quick tour.

Can you post a screenshot of the music player? Or it’s the same as in Galaxy S?

    • http://androidandme.com Taylor Wimberly

It’s the stock Android music player. Looks the same to me, but I’ll play around with it more.

Nice to see it supports (at least) 5 fingers!

Also, is Google Finance included on the system? Those tab icons look blurry (lack of high-res icons), and the widget still sports the 1.x look… you’d think they’d have at least looked into that after all those months.

I like the 3D Drawer like Launcher Pro has built into the Nexus S. Just wish I could use it on another carrier (Sprint) rather than T-Mobile.

There’s a few things I dont like. The stock icons in the notification area…ugly. And all the green highlighting. Android green is FUGLY!!

Thats the one thing I do like about touchwiz is the icons in the notification area and the blue highlighting in menus, dialer, etc. But I despise the Touchwiz launcher.

XDA has said that the Nexus S isnt exactly same hardware as Galaxy S. Such as it doesnt have the ability to record video at 720p, the Galaxy S has an additional chip on the circuit board that does that, no room for it on the Nexus S. The Nexus S has a standalone GPS chip instead of the GPS being integrated with the radio chip on the Galaxy S. So it looks like it wont be easy to directly port the 2.3 on Nexus S over to Galaxy S.
