Netflix app gets updated, now supports Droid X

For a device released almost a year ago, the Motorola Droid X has been getting a good amount of love these past couple weeks. The device recently got an OTA update with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and a couple days ago we found out there was a way to put CM7 on it. Just when we thought the love had ended, Netflix updates its app and now supports a new device. Yes, the Motorola Droid X is now officially supported by Netflix!

Currently Netflix playback is supported on the following phones:

    – Casio G’zOne Commando C771 with Android 2.2
    - DROID X by Motorola with Android 2.3
    - DROID by Motorola with Android 2.2
    - HTC Incredible with Android 2.2
    - HTC Nexus One with Android 2.2, 2.3
    - HTC G2 with Android 2.2
    - LG Revolution with Android 2.2
    - Samsung Nexus S with Android 2.3

If you’re a proud Droid X owner, simply head over to the market and install the Netflix app. Let us know how it works for you. Happy streaming!

Did Netflix remove support for the HTC Evo 4G with Android 2.2? I heard it’s not working with 2.3, but 2.2 was on Netflix’s original supported phones list.

Netflix also works on the MT4G running Royal Panache, a plain Sense ROM based on the Canadian version of the phone.

How did you get NetFlix to work on the HTC MyTouch 4G? The MarketPlace won’t let me install it and says that it is not compatible with the HTC MyTouch 4G. My MyTouch 4G is running 2.2.1 (stock).

I am really surprised how few devices are market supported by Netflix. Considering that sideloading the app works on the vast majority of them. Tablets and tegra2 devices being the glaring exceptions.
