Video: NMA explains “one-trick pony” Google buys Motorola to fight the dark side

Before everyone gets up in arms over the title of this post, you may need a quick back story on Next Media Animation TV. NMATV is a comedy animation studio that takes current events, like the Googarola announcement, and makes hilarious videos while remaining relatively informative. No one is spared when it comes to the jokes made by NMATV, including Apple, Nokia, Motorola and yes, even Google.

In today’s NMATV animation, we take a look at the Motorola acquisition. The boring factual tale goes something like this: Google needed patents and Motorola needed a bail-out, so Google purchased Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion. Of course there’s a lot more to it than that, but in a nutshell that’s how the deal went down.

The NMATV version? Well the core story stays the same, but the video makes the mobile market look a lot more dangerous than it really is. Google, the “one-trick pony,” saves Motorola from being attacked by Darth Steve Jobs. After a battle between Andy (BugDroid) and Darth Jobs, Andy goes after Samsung and Nokia who both head for Windows Phone portal in a brick wall. Nokia then celebrates a stock rise over cocktails at the rumor of a Microsoft buyout. Don’t believe me? Just watch the video. And be on the lookout for Darth Jobs while you’re at it.
