Official HTC Vigor press shot; possible September 20 unveiling

htc_vigor_press

Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you the first official press shot of the HTC Vigor.  Like the previous leaked images of the phone, the press shot of the Vigor reveals many similarities with the HTC DROID Incredible 2.  But don’t let the Vigor’s looks deceive you.  The HTC Vigor is expected to feature a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with the Adreno 220 GPU, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 8 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera, Verizon LTE and a groundbreaking 4.3-inch 1280 × 720 HD display.

While the HTC Amaze 4G and HTC Holiday may feature many of the same specs, the HTC Vigor is expected to be the must-have device from HTC this fall.  We’re hoping HTC will unveil the Vigor at their press event in New York City on September 20, followed by a rumored October 6th launch date.

The DROID Bionic may be Verizon’s flagship phone right now, but we have a feeling that its dominance will quickly fade once the HTC Vigor is unleashed.  How many of you are itching to get your hands on the first HD Android phone?

Those rumored specs are looking pretty good right now

This, like all HTC blue tooth 3.0 phones, still has their crappy BlueZ stack that is not backwards compatible for phone book syncing with cars older than 2010 that permanently have blue tooth 2.xx

Huge fail on HTC’s part since dialing from a phone in your car is illegal in many states.

Looks like a great device. Let’s just hope they’ve improved the battery life.

Battery life will probably be the only downside to this device. There’s no point in having amazing specs if your HD display, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, and LTE connection suck your battery dry in less than 12 hours of moderate use.

      • Interpol91

No doubt! With specs like that the battery life will more than likely not be a selling point. Good looking device though.

  • snowbdr89

Lookin at them specs makes me feel like dick yarrell in a gay full of men.

Went to go look at the Bionic two days ago, nice hardware, but I feel like it is June 2011 stuff. HTC Vigor would definitely get my money if I don’t see Verizon getting the Samsung Droid Prime. Even then, it will be a tough call between the Vigor or the Prime. If the Prime doesn’t have LTE, then it is the VIgor for sure for me. I have two upgrades and my old phone won’t last much longer!!

  • Droid Sam

I need a double dose of the vigor. The prime will be great, but HTC has proven over and over that they make the best damn Android phones around.

I like what HTC brings to the android experience, I also prefer sense UI to vanilla android (first experience was with HTCsenseUI1.0). Having HD (720p) on a 4.3″ screen is impressive, kinda sets the bar for the competition.

Rumor has it the prime will have a 1280×720 superAMEOLED screen (even if it’s pixelQ), and no matter what size it turns out to be I am going to be buying it for the screen alone. I am on AT&T and no one has been able to actually show me (in person) the LTE advantage over my current HSPA+ speeds.

    • http://htcsource.com Nick Gray

I’d still go for the Vigor since the design and build quality of HTC phones is always better than what Samsung can produce. Samsung’s bread and butter was cheap phones for years and they can’t seem to break out of that mentality with their high-end devices.

  • Richard Yarrell

As long as 1GB of RAM exist on this device and NOT 768 then yes this is and will be the best device on Verizon. This should also have an 1800 mil amp hr battery

    • Austin

Ok why the Down vote for him here? He didn’t even say anything bad. I kinda feel bad for the Guy.

      • Kye

If you annoy a group of people enough of the time then they generally dont like you no matter what you say. Having said that, i find just how much he annoys people quite funny. Its a like mini drama almost every time he posts.

        God bless Richard. Lol.

        • Richard Yarrell

They could down vote all night long I could care less about silly votes or the useless group they egg on with these phandroid bums snowbdr89 and squiddy20. I stand alone very strong..

          • squiddy20

“I stand alone…” Hmmmm I wonder why/how that could be? Maybe it’s because you needlessly call people “useless”, “lying”, and various other childish insults. Maybe it’s because you tell people their opinions are wrong. Maybe it’s because you act like a little spoiled brat. I’m less than half your age and act in a much more mature manner than you. Maybe it’s because you can’t seem to accept the fact that Verizon is indeed a good carrier with a better 4G network than Sprint’s (which BTW, hasn’t done much expansion since December). Maybe it’s because you claim to be a “fan of all things Android” but when it comes down to it, you make up names like “Thunderdud”, “Samsuck”, and “AssT&T”. Yeah, I can’t POSSIBLY imagine why you “stand alone”. Grow the f*ck up or shut up.

Dick dont shame a big red blog with you’re pathetic presence. Assface

      • Richard Yarrell

Your MOMMA AND DADDY is pathetic my buddy maybe I will get some votes now. Yes I call you your dirty momma and monkey looking Daddy out and let’s not forget your phandroid flunky friend squiddy20 all of you can go piss on a rock.. Now vote up or down gentlemen start your engines…. Ha Ha Ha

        • squiddy20

And you seriously called me “uneducated”? Do you even know the crap you’re writing? “You’re” is the word you were looking for you stupid moron. And yep, you’ll be getting some votes alright. Negative ones, as usual. At this point in time, you’re already at -2. In fact, all three of your comments on this page alone are in the negative. And I’m fairly certain that making those extremely childish and immature insults is not helping those ratings either. Why don’t you try acting like the 45+ year old man that you really are instead of a sad little 7 year old girl?

Isnt this a post about phones? This is the problem. With most blog sites. You people let egos and think only the phone you carry is the best and everybody else is wrong and everything else sucks. If your gonna act like that take it to the school playground or in personal emails or whatever but stop ruining it for people. Who are open and looking for info. Or a real “discussion ” about different devices etc.

Bill I con-cure, I tapped into this website to help me understand more about the new HTC phones and fine myself reading a bunch of nonsense Anyways, I really like the specs on the Vigor and am currently with Sprint and hope they come up with something similar or I might just have to switch. I live in the North bay and I would like to know if anyone uses the 4G with verizon and does it work well? Because with sprint its only a selling quote! I only get 4G when am in San Francisco area.

I love phones like this, but i prefer phones that are 3G, around 3.7-4.0 inch screen, 1.2 Ghz processor, and a little more Ram then 550mb, why all these choices? Simple phones with the specs like these have battery life, like i love my Xperia play, cause of its battery life, just the phone needs more RAM.
