Several users have reported via the twitters that they are starting to see the massive update to Google TV, which is built on the Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS, rolling out to their Sony TV devices. Google unveiled Google TV 2.0 last week, and indicated that the update was set to roll out to Sony TVs today, and Logitech Revue devices soon.
Sean posted an overview of just what the Google TV 2.0 update would bring to your TV at the end of last week. As you’re downloading the update, you’ll definitely want to read up on Sean’s post to familiarize yourself with what the update will mean for you.
If you own a Sony Google TV and haven’t seen the update hit your devices yet, you may want to head over to the menu and check for a manual update (Menu –> About –> System Update) to see if it’ll let you install it.
Don’t worry, Logitech Revue owners. Your update should be arriving in the next few weeks. In the meantime, you should have received an email from the folks at Google TV letting you know an update is coming. We promise, it’s really finally coming.
