Curious what’s in the pipeline for HTC next year? In addition to launching the Tegra 3-powered Edge, it appears HTC is also working on the Ville – their first smartphone with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon S4 processor. The latest info comes from Jonathan Geller of BGR who doesn’t exactly have the best track record with recent rumors, but he seems pretty confident in his source and the specs line up with what we expect for Q1 2012.

Rumored specs of the HTC Ville include:

  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • HTC Sense UI 4.0
  • 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display
  • 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 (MSM8960)
  • 8-megapixel backside-illuminated camera¬†with 1080p HD video capture
  • Beats Audio
  • Metal construction case and just¬†8mm thick
  • 1650 mAh battery
  • No NFC support

Jonathan reports that HTC will announce the Ville at Mobile World Congress in February and he expects the device to go on sale in April. That’s around the same time we expect the HTC Edge to debut, so it will be interesting to see these two devices go head to head. As many of you already know, Tegra 3 is the first mobile quad-core processor and Snapdragon S4 is the first dual-core processor at 28 nm.

Based on the rumored specs, which device looks more appealing to you? The HTC Edge or the HTC Ville?
