Verizon employees offered limited edition Droid RAZRs

A Verizon Wireless employee just sent me a taunting email to inform us that they will soon be receiving a limited edition of the Motorola Droid RAZR. The device will be offered to employees only at the discounted price of $99 for a 16 GB model or $199 for a 32 GB MAXX model.

Highlights of the limited edition include:

  • Unique red and black pattern
  • Free dock included
  • Engraved with unique number on back
  • Engraved with Limited Edition on front
Overall it looks like a pretty sweet deal for Verizon employees. We are told these limited edition devices should launch sometime in April. Now who wants to hook me up with a limited edition RAZR MAXX?

    Fancy shmancy.

Wonder how long its going to be before we see one on eBay or Craigslist?

  • greeny42

    Are they selling that poorly?

  • T1392

Damn only if they could see the envy in my eyes! (fav color red)

  • Ps3y3Ops

Limited Edition? You damn right it’s limited…locked bootloader and all, LOL!

    • co.ag.2005

just what I thought. I’m not envious at all! (smiles at my Sammy I9100) :D

  • Billy

Very nice … i will just have to keep my Nexus … oh darn .. ;)

  • GeauxLSU

eh, who cares. It’s not like it has special specs inside. What would make it special is if it is the 1st non-nexus phones that Verizon put 4.0 on.

  • Steve

    What? No ICS? No thanks.

  • moelsen8

hahaha “engraved”. just like they keep “engraving” the carrier and manufacturer names all over every device.. but they’re engraved, it’s like taking it to a jeweler, very class. haha

(Now that I’m actually logged in.) What? No ICS? No thanks.

I am confused with the pricing employees do have contracts its on a month to month. Maybe this is internal employees

  • mmmark111

Is that on contract or flat out? If it’s just flat out then damn. Pretty jealous. If not, meh.

If I could get that phone for $99 without a signature it would be on eBay so fast.

  • mike

its engraved with a number so if anyone tried to put it on ebay, they’ll know who…

and verizon employees sign 1 year contracts with the company and get 50% off their billing…not that great considering verizon makes about 87% profit on voice, 95% on text, and about 75% on data

    • William

If an employee leaves Verizon, do they still get to keep their 50% discount?

  • Hall Lo

Very attractive!! D: Too bad this phone has bootloader locked…. I still want it tho

  • Paul

Meh. They’ll show up on craigslist and ebay soon enough. It seems it’s mainly the color that’ll set them apart from any other, and the word “special edition”. Specs are the same, the employee gets it discounted (meh) but in the end, in a year or two, the only thing to differentiate them will be how they look. But I’m sure you’ll find them on ebay/craigslist/etc. within a month.

Uh my buddy just got a job at verizon too! I know im getting this from him!

  • thekaz

Nice perk for them if they need a new phone. Maybe it will keep some of them from buying an iPhone… :)

  • T1392

Limited Edition to me would be Bigger screen possibly HD, 32gb built in, & blurless stock 4.0. Not just a different back & some engraved numbers & engraved limited edition. I should engrave my GNex with a “limited edition” & spray paint my back cover red so i can be like Verizon haha. I’ll just put the # in sharpie. =P

  • Samuel D

I prefer low resolutions and list prices. Guess I better consider a second job for a “special” phone!

  • jose pedro mandlate

    all so good

Chances are, much to the dismay of some, that this will be requisitioned to only work on Verizon Employee accounts, due to special coding and discounts they specifically receive.
