Carly Foulkes slips out of her pink dress in attempt to makeover T-Mobile’s image

carly-leather

Can Carly Foulkes dressed in leather save T-Mobile? In an upcoming commercial to promote the HTC One S, Carly throws her trademark pink dresses to the floor in exchange for a tight leather suit. It is all part of a new $200 million marketing campaign with the tagline “No More Mr. Nice Girl.”

“We’re working toward a brand refresh later in the year,” T-Mobile senior VP Peter DeLuca said in an interview with AllThingsD. “We really can’t wait until the end of the year to make some noise in the market.”

T-Mobile is throwing a launch party for the One S this Wednesday, so the new ads could start airing soon. We are big fans of Carly, but we are not sure if she can help turn T-Mobile around on her own. Check out the teaser video below and let us know what you think.

t-mobile UK’s ship is most defiantly afloat

  • bigrob029

I dunno… i guess they cant really get Catherine Zeta Jones back now, huh?
Im in if they announce an HTC One with a keyboard.

(in dire need of a 3G Slide upgrade)

T-Mobile is on the right track, it’s make or break time for a lot of carriers with all that 4G hype and of course the iPhone pandemic. T-Mobile can sneakily get into a better position if they play the ad game right. Keep using Carly so that customers can put a human face to the products and connect with it.

    ???!! I’m glad I don’t watch commercial television.

  • Nathan D.

Well I’m all for a better T-Mobile if they start pushing out better more phones like the HTC one X in their smartphone line up and didn’t they also say they were going to go to LTE as well later next year or this year? Maybe the new bad boy girl thing was because they were moving on to LTE, it just a hunch.

  • MrMrMan

Unless she is coming along with a better phone than the One S, then T-Mobile is still trash.

  • n25philly

If she’s a bad girl now does that mean I get to spank her?

  • Ryan

    Thunk you nean April 18th

  • Tojen

    Dear t-mo,

Your lack of advertising is not your problem. It’s your lack of coverage that stinks.

  • kwills88

It sucks knowing that T-Mobile got to release the first ever android device and from then T-Mobile keeps getting the short end of the stick when it comes premium android devices.

  • ihatefanboys

When is the ONE X going to be released for T-Mobile. On the Carly matter, how can anyone think shes hot, shes bone thin, yuck ! had a nose job so her eyes look too far apart yuck ! whats up with those teeth ? yuck !!

    • http://androidandme.com Taylor Wimberly

Heard it is pushed back to mid summer to not overshadow One S launch.

      • jamal adam

        The HTC One X release?

      • ihatefanboys

O good, I’m waiting on that one. I heard the S has almost the same specs, but the X is the beast. I think I got voted down for saying Carlys not hot….you guys have a lot to learn if u think that’s what a woman looks like…she needs to eat some hamburgers.

  • spazby

    That girl is hot

  • Angie Wimberly

Haha seems a bit cheezy. Even Angelina Jolie in “action/badass” roles got tired after awhile.

  • Ironzey Lewis

I hope Tmo isn’t trying the bad ass route, next thing you know they’ll have battling robots or something stupid like that. I’m not 14.

    • http://www.focuszonedevelopment.com Homncruse

Are you kidding? If they battle “Droids” (i.e., Verizon), it could work for them. Of course, that has a prerequisite of the common consumer disambiguating between “Droid” and Android.

  • jamal adam

Hopefully, all that money being spent on marketing pays off and brings in new customers and interest in T-Mobile. Go T-Mobile!

  • GE 918

To hell with the girl, I want a Galaxy Note on T-Mobile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • WlfHart

Seriously, spend that $200 million on a contract to get some better premium Android phones!

  • aranea

Think about a US with only ATT and Verizon. Competition is good for us -the customer-. Go T-Mobile!

  • KRS_Won

I don’t know about switching to T-Mo, but at least I have a great new wallpaper on my phone.

  • JoeP

Spend that money on adding more towers!!!

  • thekaz

Don’t they realize that a good-looking girl is not gonna make us want to switch to t-mobile? Advertisers need to learn that we are too smart to fall for this tactic.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go to Burger King. Anyone seen those new commercials with Selma Hayek?!?

    ;)

    • ihatefanboys

Now salma hayek is a woman, big hips big boobs, nice butt….take a lesson carly, lol

  • 6y756

    $200 million brainwashing marketing campaign
It blows my mind companies stay in business with this kind if thought process.
people who switch are even bigger idiots….BTW Carly Foulkes is not attractive

    • ihatefanboys

That’s what I’m saying, she’s bone thin, and her eyes are too far apart….its what happens when u get a nose job. Not attractive at all, plus the voice irritates me.

  • seabass978

t-mobile needs better coverage, compared to Verizon which my cousin has, fishing and camping areas suck ass. I need to use his phone to do a text or call.

  • Matt

Shes too skinny for me but at least she got rid of that damn dress!!

  • McLovin

    Move over Danica Patrick!

  • Jedediah Sweetser

Tmobile will survive, they did however suffer huge by announcing the merger plans and not accessing new phones at the end of the year. Not getting the Galaxy Nexus and allowing Verizon to gobble up all the good phones for 4 months really hurt them big time. It hurt Tmobile more because they’ve had every Nexus phone since inception (and is why i went to Tmobile all those years ago for my G1). Stopping that line of products put a big dent in their business and subsequently gave it to Verizon.

  • JJ

Dont tell me to switch to2G to send a text and stop telling me theres nothing u can do @ the ‘known issue’ of my phone freexing daily! Spend money on improving ur crappy custserv..Carly wont help that!
