Samsung Galaxy S III coming to the US by June 20th?

Samsung Galaxy S III

The Samsung Galaxy S III goes on sale in Europe next week, but when is the device coming to the US? David Beren of TmoNews just posted T-Mobile’s device roadmap for the next couple months and his sources say the device could launch as soon as June 20th.

Release dates are always subject to change, but it’s a good sign that the device could be scheduled to hit our shores less than a month after the international version. Last year with the Galaxy S II, some US carriers did not launch the device until six months later.

We are still waiting to learn which US carriers will carry the Galaxy S III, but rumors and speculation suggest it will be coming to the AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and possibly a couple regional carriers as well.

Additional rumored T-Mobile release dates include:

  • Samsung Galaxy S III 16GB Metallic Blue — June 20th
  • Samsung Galaxy S III 32GB Metallic Blue — June 20th
  • T-Mobile myTouch (Huawei Phoenix) — July 11th
  • T-Mobile myTouch (Huawei Buddy) — July 11th
  • Samsung Galaxy S III 16GB Ceramic White — July 11th
  • Samsung Galaxy Note — July 11th

I’m sure some readers will be glad to see the Galaxy Note is arriving on T-Mobile in July. This could be a signal that AT&T’s exclusive launch period is over, and we might see the unique device on additional carriers like Sprint or Verizon.

TmoNews is normally pretty accurate with their leaked device release dates, so hopefully we will be hearing some kind of official announcement soon. The T-Mobile Galaxy S III would be a perfect match with one of their pre-paid plans, don’t you think?

If this is true, my friend is gonna be upset she just got the SII yesterday, seeing these phones come to t-MOBILE is much needed, hopefully I can by this over over the summer since I already use my update for the SII.

    • leo

Tell her to return it. If she just bought it yesterday, she should be able to. That way she can have the newest fancy shmancy phone out! Lol. The gs2 is already outdated spec wise, that would suck being stuck on a 2 year contract on an older phone.

        Say SO LONG to Verizon…
Galaxy S3 in June and the NEW Nexus in November with 5.0 jellybean on Tmo will be my next stop. Time to sell my dreaded cdma Verizon Nexus to the highest bidder…

        • Dirge

You get around more often than a red light district whore.

          • Richard Yarrell

Least we know where you spend your time at most. You poor soul..

          • squiddy20

Wow Richard, I see your “brilliant” intellect is at work again. Newsflash: you don’t actually need to spend time around something to know about it. For instance, I’ve never been to the Rocky Mountains, but I sure as hell know about them. Your pitiful “argument” (if you could even call it that) is utterly invalid… as usual. Wanna try again?
Oh, by the way, congratulations on spelling the correct “soul” this time. I can’t count the number of times you used “sole” in it’s place. Yay! Little Dick’s learning something!

        • squiddy20

“Time to sell my dreaded cdma Verizon Nexus to the highest bidder” Who’d want your sorry phone after you’ve stated you’ve been “pushing up on” (having sex with) it? Good god you’re a freak. I can pretty much guarantee you’ll bitching and complaining about something concerning T-Mobile within 2 or 3 months. You honestly can’t help it because you so erroneously feel entitled to be treated like royalty. How sad.

          • Richard Yarrell

At least i can have whatever i want when i want it. We all know your stuck on that Samsung Moment guess moms won’t get off any cash now won’t she. Let me help you out college boy GET A REAL JOB. Get off Moms coat tails..

          • squiddy20

            Hahahaha!!! Wrong again Dicky!
As of last week, I bought a Galaxy Nexus just like you! Only difference is, I’m still on Sprint and within 5 hours of getting it, had it unlocked and rooted running a CM9 nightly. You said months ago you were “looking into” rooting your “pimp slapping” Gnex, and yet here you are today, still bitching like a little child about not having Android 4.0.4, which you could have if you were rooted. Surely if a “useless college kid” like myself can root the Gnex, a “real man” such as yourself can too, no? Why don’t you go get a REAL EDUCATION that you’re in so desperate need of?

“At least i can have whatever i want when i want it.” Hmmm, so you can get a Maserati? You can get a million dollar loft in NYC, the “money capital of the world” (your words)? You can get a better TV than that POS from the 70′s or 80′s in one the videos you made with your Evo 3D and posted to Youtube? Surely you could at least get a tutor to help you with your spelling and comprehension deficiencies? Good god you’re stupid.

Manufacturers and carriers are still doing this bs where they launch the white version months later? Just launch the damn thing with all colors at once for customers to choose!

I think only Motorola got it right so far. If I remember, the RAZR launched with like 3 different colors all available at the same time?

    • redraider133

no the razr only launched with 1 color, then white and purple came later along with blue even later.

    • http://www.brokemanstech.com Juan Almanzar

I work for AT&T as a sales rep and the past couple of releases have had the white go with the release side by side excluding the Lumia 900 but it launched only 2 weeks later. Before it, the Note launched in both white and black and the after it the One X launched in grey and white (getting your hands on either is a whole other issue though).

  • aranea

Now we know about the date the remaining question is what the spec’s for the T-mo version of S III will be. I hoe they didn’t change much.

  • R.S

I can’t stand timed exclusives for phones.

Had either the Nexus or the Note been available from the very beginning, I would have bought one of them.

Then again, it’s not like Samsung lost my business since I ended up buying the GS II (T989). I did consider the HTC Amaze though.

  • holysmokesbatty

What’s with the Ceramic White coming 3 weeks later. My wife hates having the same color phone as me and would choose the white anyways.

I hope that doesn’t stay the case. I love having options.

  • fingers26

I hope get to Mexico soon…!!!!

  • Skis03

I agree what is the point of saying it is coming in two different colors and advertising when you cannot choose right away.

    • http://www.jaxidian.org/update/ jaxidian

So you know not to buy the blue one if you would rather have a white one.

  • redraider133

I wish they would just release it on all the carriers at once. Carrier exclusives are no good and only potentially lose out on sales for the manufacturers.

    • swazedahustla

Not happening…..T-Mo has the exclusive for a couple months (probably 5-6) so you won’t see it anywhere else until after then.

      • redraider133

I doubt 5-6 months. If that was the case I think the other carriers may have just passed on it all together for something else. I could see maybe a month or two but 5-6 months I mean that is super long in android phone time.

        • swazedahustla

That’s true. But going from history it has been a serious lag in carriers getting a Samsung phone. Look how long it was with sprint for example getting the gs² or the gnex. It was 6 months or later for both. Its stupid that these carriers do this stuff.

          • redraider133

Yeah well with the sgs and sgs2 it was relatively close to each other that the carriers got the devices like a month or two in most cases.

  • LittleGreenDude

I’m gonna have to admit, that picture makes the phone look quite sexy.

  • jamal adam

T-Mobile for the win. I like this, being one of the first with the Galaxy S III but I still would like to see the One X as well.

  • stepquick

Hmmm, has any android phone released with multiple colors all at the same time? It’s sorta an unusual thing. I wouldn’t mind a white SIII though. :D

    • holysmokesbatty

The myTouch series has been pretty good about color options. Otherwise I’m not certain.

I just learned that the Samsung Galaxy S III will have a stylus as an accessory. Now I have to choose between the Galaxy S III or the Galaxy Note. I’m leaning toward the S III.

  • meandroid scum

iphone is much better, iphone is americas no 1

    • LilSmurf2009

LOL, Dude keep dreaming i wont vote u down just so people can actually see how ignorant and isheep you are. Iphone is overated and outdated just admited . The Samsugn Galaxy III and the Htc oneX are sexy and you know it. Lol

    • rauelius

As an owner of both an iPhone 4s and Galaxy Nexus, I would have to disagree.

      • jsnyderc

dude we are talking about htc one x, not the galaxy nexus

        • rauelius

I was responding to MeanDroid Scum, I am unbiased and wanted to tell an iSheep that the iPhone isn’t the end all be all for “smartphones”.

  • LilSmurf2009

Yes!!!!!! good thing i waited . I would prefer the Htc OneX but I guess the galaxy s3 would have to do

  • rauelius

T-Mobile is the only US Carrier who most likely WON’T strip the Exynos Quad-Core from this phone, as they use the same HSPA+ as in the rest of the world. If this phone is stripped down to the Krait Dual-Core, then it’s a wasted opportunity for T-Mobile to say “Hey, look those other chumps At&t, Verizon and Sprint, Dumb down your phone to a dual-core, only T-Mobile offers the best version of the Galaxy S III!.”

And before anyone jumps down my throat saying that the Dual-Core Krait is comprable to a Quad-Core. It is and isn’t. It’s comprable to the Tegra 3 4+1 core SoCs, but the Exynos is on a different planet entirly from the Tegra 3 so replacing that chip with the (still really good, but an insult to anyone who understands SoCs) Krait S4. It’s as if Nissan imported the GT-R, stripped away the Twin-Turbo V6 and tossed in the 4 Cylinder Naturally Aspirated Engine from the Nissan Sentra. If all the Galaxy S III’s are stripped down (and bloated up with carrier garbage-ware) I hope that the Galaxy S III is a failure (In the US). Their would be no point to the Galaxy S III if it has the Krait S4, as at that point, it’ll be identical to the HTC One X/One S/Evo LTE/Incredible LTE as they will all share identical internals. Might as well go for the cheaper HTC phone, since they’ll probably be cheaper and perform identically.

  • rauelius

    Krait S4 Dual-Core = Galaxy S 2.5 <—–The one the US Carriers are getting.
    Exynos Quad-Core = Galaxy S III

    • Kunai

phuk outta here S4 is great.

      • rauelius

You know what? It is!! A Corvette is freaking great too, but when the rest of the world gets Bugatti Veyrons, a Corvette seems pretty passe….

  • Max.Steel

Who designed this phone? It’s like they were actually TRYING to make it look ugly on purpose.

  • Paul

When is it coming to Canada? That is my question ..
We actually got the Note before the US did, which is super
surprising to say the least !
Now maybe we can luck out with the SIII too … :)

  • gfhfdh

galaxy s 3 with dualcore out of sec is not a galaxy 3
American mobile market is going to ruin what is a great phone

  • orginn

    Sgs3 ftw

  • Ivan

I paid almost $500 for the 4s since I did that early upgrade thing with AT&T. Once this comes out will I be able to get it without changing my data/talk plan?
Android has stollen my heart and this phone much more

  • Nathan D.

Yes! Some good phones are coming to T-Mobile, can’t wait to buy the GSIII

  • snowbdr89
