Galaxy S III coming to AT&T July 6th, starting at $199.99

The flagship Android device of 2012 is going on sale at AT&T stores this Friday, July 6th. Pricing will match that of other carriers, with the 16GB variant going for $199.99, and the 32GB model retailing at $249.99. In addition to the Marble White and Pebble Blue options, AT&T will be offering a red variant, though the red model won’t be available until later this summer.

What more can we say about the Galaxy S III? It’s easily the best Android smartphone on the market today, and likely will be for quite some time. The extra GB of RAM (2GB) makes the phone really fly, and will ensure the device receives the latest and greatest Android OSes for a lengthy period of time.

Full Specs for the Galaxy S III include:

  • 4.8″ Super AMOLED HD display
  • 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • Android 4.0
  • 8 megapixel rear camera with zero shutter lag
  • 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera
  • NFC
  • LTE/HSPA+ 42 connectivity (varies by carrier)
  • S-Voice
  • 16/32 GB on-board storage
  • 2,100 mAh battery

Who out there is planning on making the Galaxy S III their next Android phone? Sound off in the comments.

    • http://www.infotainmentempire.com pekosROB

That would be an awesome birthday present. Hope it gets there in time!

I was wondering when Verizon would get theirs out the door as well. I’m hoping I still get the 9th shipping date instead of the 11th.

Got my T-Mobile one last week and loving it so far.

Understand that the 16/32 Gb is on-board, not in the SD slot. The SD slot is empty on delivery.

Just ordered the GNex off Google Play after the $50 reduction they put up during Google I/O, specifically because I was disappointed the S3 was only going to be the 16GB variant on AT&T. Now knowing they have the 32GB version + Micro SD slot…. oh well, I’ll just console myself with the fact that I’ll have Vanilla Jelly Bean on an unlocked phone, my city doesn’t have LTE and probably won’t for another year, and that the S3 isn’t quad-core stateside just yet.

    • msgnyc

      So wait…
Since you were disappointed that AT&T originally only offered the GSIII as the 16gb model + micro card slot that accepts upto 64gb of additional storage and not a 32gb model + card slot you decided to buy a GNex that has 16gb and no card slot o_O?

  • Kizipotamus

I bet it’ll be really great when it gets Jelly Bean next year.

Confused, a friend of mine is on AT&T and has the Galaxy S III right now, he’s had it for about a week now. He preordered it when they were offering pre-orders. How is it just now being announced they’re going to offer it on Friday?

    • msgnyc

People who preordered got there first. That’s the entire point of preordering, but not everyone preordered.
You wont beable to just walk into a store and buy one until the 6th.

    • WIbigdog

Yep, preorders got theirs first, I’ve had my on at&t for over a week now and it’s amazing, firefox is a brilliant browser for a phone. Can’t wait to see what’ll start coming for apps with this much power and screen space :-D

  • ElvisonD

Got mine from Tmobile on Friday, all i gotta say is, even if you pay full price for it….even that is cheap for what this phone can do…This phone is craaazy good

  • Richard Yarrell

Gotta say so myself the Tmobile Galaxy S3 is definitely BOSS. Leaving Verizon for Tmobile was the BEST THING EVER. Tmobile speeds and plans Simply makes Verizon useless.

    • squiddy20

How’s that data network doing on T-Mobile? http://phandroid.com/2012/07/02/t-mobile-data-outtage-affecting-users-across-the-country/

You join T-Mobile, and 2 or so days later the network goes down? Surely it can’t be a coincidence?

      • msgnyc

You act as if Verizon hyas never had data outtages before… o_O

        • squiddy20

Did I mention anything about Verizon? No. How can I act “that way” without even implying *anything* about Verizon? I was merely pointing out the odd coincidence that I perceived.

      • Richard Yarrell

What a scrub you are. Your not even on Verizon they don’t have Samsung Moments. Every network has occasional issues Verizon is far from perfect with it’s overrated and overpriced LTE network. Tmobile speeds are up extremely and fits just perfectly. My Galaxy S3 is humming along beautifully..

        • squiddy20

*gasp* Verizon doesn’t have “Samsung Moments”?!?! You mean they don’t have a 2.6 year old phone that was only sold on Sprint?! What is this madness you speak of?

Seriously though, you sound incredibly stupid stating the incredibly obvious. For the 1.5 years that you were with Sprint, you went on and on about how “shitty” Verizon was, how it was “the devil” of all carriers with its “over priced and underspeced devices”. Then you get with Verizon to obtain a “pimp slapping” Galaxy Nexus, a phone that you said would be Verizon’s flagship phone and *somehow* thought would be treated better than any of its Droid phones. And for the past 2 months at least, you’ve been bitching and complaining about the same stuff about Verizon that you were when you were with Sprint not even 9 months ago, WHILE you were on Verizon? Really? What an ignorant, hypocritical moron.

        • snowbdr88

Dick yarrell you really are the idiot of all idiots, they need to make a colony of idiots and crown you as king idiot, king of all idiots!!

          • redraider133

no do not suggest that. We do not need more like him lol

    • Max.Steel

This from the person who insulted T-Mobile all the time.

    • redraider133

wasn’t your Evo 3d “boss” same with your galaxy nexus, now this is boss? SO you left sprint because you said verizon was so much better now you claim tmo is so much better. Where are you going to run to next when you throw a bitch fit and don’t get your way?

      • squiddy20

What’s funny is, while he was with Sprint, he wouldn’t shut up about how “overpriced and underspeced” Verizon’s phones were, how their 4G network was shit, how Verizon itself was “the devil” and all kinds of nonsense, but then a few months later signs up for service with them. So while he’s on Verizon he’s touting them as the best carrier of all, but then because the cost is too high, he is pretty much forced to leave for a cheaper alternative (T-Mobile), and goes back to saying how shitty Verizon is, when it was his own fault he couldn’t afford the services provided by Verizon. Absolutely incredible.
If he doesn’t get his way on T-Mobile, among the “big four” he’s only left with AT&T, which he supposedly absolutely despises. So it’s either AT&T, back to Sprint (like a little bitch), or one of the smaller carriers like Cricket, Metro PCS, etc.

  • smeghead68

Wow. That’s a great price for a great phone. Wish we had deals like that up north.

  • fee

So the ATT version has the snapdragon s4? what US available version has the exynos

  • BigCiX

I just bought a 32 gig class 10 sd card to put in my LG Thrill. Since the last update to gingerbread that phone had nothing but ghost calls and text message errors. I complained so much that at&t just gave me a free update (had to renew my 2 year agreement though). They said I could have any phone except the iphone or GS III. I easily took a brand new white HTC One X. My only thing i don’t like is no sd slot. So now I have a brand new 32 gb sd card. Guess I’ll save it for my next device. You guys have fun with your new toy!!!
