HTC confirms Android 4.1 updates for the HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S

Roughly 24 hours after Telstra revealed that Android 4.1 updates for the HTC one XL and HTC One S are already in the works, HTC has released an official statement announcing that the HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S will all be updated to Android 4.1.

We know HTC fans are excited to get their hands on Google's latest version of Android. At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean.HTC

While we would have liked to get a little more detail as to when the updates for these handsets are expected to be released, we know that release estimates can easily be pushed out due to long testing cycles by carrier partners. Since Google announced that handset partners have had their hands on Jelly Bean for some time now, we are expecting to see updates roll out a lot quicker than it took HTC and other OEMs to push out Android 4.0 to their existing handset lineup.

Awesome! I’m guessing that means the EVO LTE will be getting it too! Means quicker Roms.

I think most of us never doubted that that Evo LTE would get the Jelly Bean update, although I find it a bit odd that HTC would mention the One X, One XL, and One S, but not the Evo LTE.

I guess they wanted the announcement to only focus on the specifically branded One series.

I know this ain’t the place but I haven’t got no charge or tracking number from google about my nexus 7 yet. I ordered on June 28 16gb with case straight from the Play Store, any body in the same boat?

Just got it, I’m happy, fishing and nexus 7 at home. My camping buddies have to wait next time.

My One S is already really speedy. My Nexus 7 is amazingly speedy (thank you 4.1 and Project Butter! Tegra 3 Doesn’t hurt either). I can’t wait to see what this update does for my One S.

This is why my next phone will be an HTC flagship.

Screw LG and their (lack of) device support, even on their flagship devices.

      LG has a flagship device?

Used to be the G2x. They dumped it and left us owners stranded

I’ll vote on LG’s customer support with my next purchase. I’ll give you 3 guesses what vendor it won’t be and the 1st 2 tries don’t count

also here my G2x is in a box in 20 pieces. that thing was a nightmare.

I have had an issue with the HTC One X – died, had to wait for repair- but I chose it because of the camera and the likelihood of software updates. The camera is excellent and HTC are pushing out Jellybean “soon” so it looks like a good choice.
