The Android 4.1 update for the HTC One X and One XL may only be a few short weeks away. According to Paul O’Brien of MoDaCo fame, HTC is planing to roll out Android’s Jelly Bean flavored update to the two devices starting in October. HTC branded phones will be the first in line to receive the updates, but Paul claims that all carrier branded phones will be updated before Christmas.
The only additional detail about the Android 4.1 upgrade for the HTC One X and One XL is that both phones will also be updated with HTC Sense 4.5, which is expected to be a lot smoother thanks to Project Butter. The source of this information is not disclosed, but Paul has always been reliable.
HTC first announced that it would update the HTC One X, XL and S to Android 4.1 back in July. For now, there are no details available regarding the Android 4.1 update for the HTC One S, but we suspect HTC will make it available a few weeks after the updates for the One X and XL start rolling out.
