This week we are taking another break from our Android Gaming Weekly recap and just focusing on new releases. We still plan to cover upcoming releases and games we are playing, but this new column is just dedicated to new games you can install and start playing right now. Check out our top picks and let us know if you have any suggestions for next week in the comments below.

1. Wild Blood

Description: King Arthur has gone mad, fueled by his jealousy toward Lancelot for romancing his wife, Queen Guinevere. In his desperation, Arthur has been tricked by his sister, the all-powerful sorceress Morgana Le Fey, to open the Hellgate and allow all forms of demons to enter the world. Meanwhile, Morgana has captured Guinevere and holds her hostage on the magical island of Avalon. Now Lancelot needs to confront King Arthur and the evil Morgana in order to free the world from these evil creatures and save Guinevere. The time for Sir Lancelot to face his destiny is now!

Taylor says: This game runs $6.99, but it is Gameloft’s first title powered by the Unreal Engine. It features 10 levels, 20 enemies including epic bosses, and a wide range of weapons. Multiplayer mode allows eight players to go head-to-head in Team Deathmatch (4 vs. 4) and Capture the Flag modes.

2. Chaos Rings

Description: Following after the FINAL FANTASY series, this massive new RPG comes to Android! CHAOS RINGS takes full advantage of the Android’s capabilities. Using a classic game system that any RPG fan will enjoy, it presents an epic tale consisting of four different scenarios, all brought to you with gorgeous sound and unbelievably smooth 3D graphics.

Taylor says: This RPG costs $12.99 and takes up 1 GB space, but you know it’s good since it came from Square Enix. I don’t know if I have the time to invest in this game, but I am really tempted to purchase it right now.

3. Rigonauts

Description: Rigonauts is the fantastical building battle game from Engient. Snap together the ultimate vessel and send your crew of Hobs into battle. With a well designed ship and a clever plan, your crew will smash and blast past an assortment of strange and dangerous foes.

Taylor says: This game is exclusive to select Verizon devices powered by Snapdragon chips, but it should be coming to more devices soon.

4. NFL Pro 2013

Description: Football is back on your smartphone! The only free-to-play football simulation is now even richer, more immersive and more realistic. The official NFL license allows you to choose your favorite team among any of the 32 franchises. Enjoy revamped graphics as well as smoother animations for an even more realistic football experience.

Taylor says: If you can get over the freeemium model, this might be a pretty fun football game. Just be ready for notification spam and being encouraged to make in-app purchases to unlock new plays.

5. League of Evil

 Taylor says: Go download this now if you love classic platformers. The game has been on iOS for a year and a sequel has already been released, but this is the first time it’s available for Android.

6. Plague Inc.

Taylor says: Looks like a solid download since it’s free to play. Claims to be the #1 mobile strategy game.

7. DeathMetal HD

Description: DeathMetal is classic arcade game in new HD look. It combines the best old school gameplay with cutting edge graphics and touch controls on your tablet or mobile. If you like Pong, Arkanoid or any other wall/brick breaker, you must definitely try DeathMetal!

Taylor says: I never played the classic arcade game, but it looks to deliver the fast oldschool action that some crave. Early reviews are positive, but you might want to wait and see what more people say.

8. TheEndApp

Taylor says: Might be a worthy purchase if you enjoyed the 80′s classic, but the current reviews are pretty mixed. I was not a fan of Zaxxon, so I’m passing this one up.
