Manually download, install Android 4.2 on your GSM Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7

Now that the Nexus 4 with Android 4.2 is available on Google Play, Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7 owners are starting to see the latest version of Android trickle out. At the moment, only a handful of users have reported getting the OTA update on their devices, but you can always take matters into your own hands by manually downloading and installing the update on your own.

For now, the Android 4.2 update for the Galaxy Nexus is only available on “yakju” or “takju” GSM devices. For complete download and installation instructions, please visit XDA-Developers. Those of you not willing to wait around for the Android 4.2 OTA update for the Nexus 7, download and manually install the update from XDA-Developers as well.

Let us know how the installation process goes and which new features of Android 4.2 you enjoy the most.
