Samsung sells 38 million Galaxy Notes, creates the first popular phablet line

samsung-galaxy-note-II

Samsung wasn’t the first to make a “phablet,” or a smartphone that was reaching tablet size. The Dell Streak was famous for being too large and becoming a commercial failure. Who could hold a five inch device? It’s ridiculous! But Samsung was the first to make the phablet truly popular.

The launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note was met with a lot of skepticism. Due to the large size and the archaic concept of the stylus, people didn’t think it would be a device category that would last long. However, it was a surprising success. The first Note sold very well and gained a lot of popularity, especially among regular folk who just loved having a large phone.

As of today, Samsung has sold over 38 million Galaxy Note devices. This includes the first two smartphones and two tablets. And we’re sure that the Galaxy Note 3 will sell even better than the others. What did you think when the first Note came out? Did you think it was a bad, niche product, or did you see it as useful? i’d say people are into large devices because of Samsung. the costumers did not trust other manufacturers, and decided to follow the trend. then the Note came and being from samsung, a well known manufacturer of good reputation and quality, people went crazy over the Note.

they like the note because its from samsung. i like it, too. but i am not lucky enough to manage to get my hands on one (contract free) lol

I don’t like it because its from Samsung , I like it because its the only smartphone in the U.S that’s has a active digitizer pen, I sketch and take notes often so this is great.

I liked it for its screen size.

I was provided one for work and hated it when I received it. Now I can’t stand using a smaller phone. The screen real estate makes spreadsheet and blueprint view a breeze.

I owned the galaxy S III before the Note II and loved it. I’ve always been team android. With that in mind I had already built trust in Samsung products. I went with the note instead of the S 4 because it is perfect for my needs. I would most likely never use half of the motion triggers that came with the S 4,but I was always reading on the S III and taking all of my notes on it. The battery lasts longer and from what I’ve seen, everyone seems to find a place to put the Note. I love it.

no it does not include the note tablets, only the phablets

I remember people calling them Scamsung and Samscum, lol. They really had people upset with their copying of Apple and lack of updates. Now they are a leader in the industry. Good for them.

When the first Galaxy Note came out I thought it was the stupidest idea for a phone I had ever seen. It was the perfect example of how misguided Samsung was in just releasing phone after phone after phone.

Fast forward six months when I played with a Note 2 for 5 minutes in the store. That’s when I realized that Samsung had come out with the best phone ever. I replaced my iPhone that day with a Note 2 and I have never regretted it for a second.

My Note 3 is on order.

I thought the Note would do well. You have to remember that in China, it’s not so intuitive to type with a keyboard since there are thousands of characters

As a Streak owner, the switch to the Note was a no brainer. I love not having to stick my phone to my nose when I’m reading!

I was very skeptical while buying a Dell Streak, but after that I can’t think of any smaller phone. I was a great fan of Nexus 4 but I can’t decide in its favor at the time of buying a newer phone because of its small screen. So here comes my Mighty Note 2 and I absolutely loves it. My streak is with my wife and my 2 year old son who watches videos on it. But even he likes Note 2 more :)

I may be ready to join this trend by the time Samsung releases the Note 4. The Note 2 isn’t that much bigger than my S3, and I’m curious to see the Note 3 in person to size that up as well.

Before I got my note one I did a comparison of 4 other phones: IPhone, S2, nexus and Lumia. the note had the biggest battery life, fastest processor and it had a HD screen. The generous screen size and stylus were just a bonus. I was looking for a more future proof phone and it fit bill well . It was a bit more expensive but after nearly 2 years of using it, there is no way I’m going back to anything smaller
