T-Mobile has been changing the mobile carrier game for quite a while now, introducing new plans and features and ideals that undercut the biggest carriers significantly. You can tell that it poses a significant threat to them because AT&T, Verizon, and even Sprint have all introduced some form of early upgrade system after T-Mobile unveiled Uncarrier.
Their next step is to bring Uncarrier to the tablet market. The same principles apply as they did to smartphones: you can pick up a tablet with a monthly payment and select a proper plan. However, T-Mobile guarantees a free 200MB of 4G LTE data a month for the life of the tablet, for free. Yes, if you have a data enabled tablet like the Nexus 7 LTE, you’ll get free data as long as you own the tablet, even if you’re not a T-Mo customer.
If you want more data than just 200MB, you’ll have to pick up a no contract plan. The basic $10 a month plan offers unlimited data with 500MB of LTE data. You can add 2GB at a time for an extra $10 a month each. T-Mo also offers daily and weekly passes of extra data for high prices ($5 for a day of 500MB of LTE and $10 for a week of 1GB of LTE). And being unlimited plans, you will face no overages.
T-Mobile also announced that it will be offering the new iPads at $0 down, with monthly payments ranging from $18 to $27, depending on the model. You’ll be paying $99 extra on the downpayment for every step up in memory size too.
