Owners of the Snapdragon-powered Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in Poland treated to official KitKat

Samsung Galaxy Note 3

The current Samsung lineup is entirely on 4.3 Jelly Bean, one version of Android behind. Both the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3 have received leaks of the Android 4.4 KitKat update, so we thought that the official update was not far out. However, we didn’t expect it to be quite this close.

The Galaxy Note 3, specifically the Snapdragon-powered LTE model N9005, is now receiving the KitKat update through Kies in Poland. It should be getting it over the air soon as well, and the spread to other regions should start in the next few days or weeks.

For now, if you’re in Poland and want to give it a shot, fire up Kies or wait for the OTA update to come to you. You’ll be getting build N9005XXUENA6, which is Android 4.4.2. Expect a slightly redesigned user interface, namely a new lockscreen and an all-white status bar. And be patient when downloading it, the file is absolutely huge. Are you excited to see KitKat on your Note 3?
