BBM v2.2 app update rolling out with performance improvements, new features

Heads up, BBM users, because you’ve got a big update headed your way!

BlackBerry has announced that it’s updating the BBM for Android app to version 2.2 and adding several new goodies in the process. Those include an easier way to friend other users, lots of new emoticons and more. Here’s the full changelog for the BBM v2.2 update:

  • Simple sign up for new BBM users
  • New sign in screen for existing BBM users
  • Improved experience for adding new BBM contacts by email
  • Updates tab has been re-named ‘Feeds’
  • 16 new emoticons
  • Bug fixes and performance improvements

The BBM for Android v2.2 update appears to be live in the Play Store right now, so if you’re an avid BBM-er, you probably want to fire up Google Play and check for that update.

Do you use BBM on your Android phone or tablet?
