Transferring photos, video, SMS messages, music and contacts between Android and iOS can be a pain. There are solutions for syncing just about everything you could want, but almost all of them require a constant Internet connection and several different logins. If our viewer stats for Android and Me are right, quite a few of you probably know exactly what I’m talking about (we get a lot of traffic from iOS devices). I’ve been trying out a piece of software lately that aims to tackle this problem from Wondershare called MobileTrans.
MobileTrans is one piece of software that allows you to swap different kinds of files and data between devices. Between iOS and Android, you can share contacts, SMS messages, videos, photos and music. Between Android devices, you can share all that as well as call logs and app installs.
To start using MobileTrans, you first have to plug in both devices you are looking to share between via USB. For me, that was an iPhone 5s and Nexus 7 2013. MobileTrans supports most major phones including the Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8, Motorola Moto X and more. Form there, you simply use checkboxes to select what you want to transfer, click “Start Copy,” wait a couple minutes and you’re done. You can choose which device is your source device and which is your destination device even after both are already plugged in, so you don’t have to worry about the order you connect them. That’s really all there is to it. I didn’t run into any problems whatsoever — the entire process from start to finish took about three minutes.
Everyone is going to have different preferences for how they share files and information between devices. For some, MobileTrans will be a great solution. If you think it will fit your needs, we recommend you check out the free trial over at Wondershare.com for either Windows or Mac, where you can also pick up a complete copy for $19.99.
