Motorola launches Android Lollipop update guide

“We know what you’re thinking. ‘Will my device receive an upgrade? When? How?’” Whoa, Motorola can read minds! Motorola has just updated its upgrade information hub with new info on if your Motorola-branded handset will be bumped up to Android 5.0, Lollipop.

The information guide can be found through the help section on Motorola’s website under Android Software, Android Upgrade Schedule. The way it works is simple: using a drop down menu, you select where you bought your Motorola Android phone, then select the phone model and Motorola will give you some information on whether or not your device will be upgraded to Android Lollipop. When you select a T-Mobile Moto X 2nd Gen, Motorola will tell you the device will be updated “pending partner support.” A Verizon Xyboard, on the other hand, doesn’t mention anything beyond Android 4.1.

While it doesn’t show an exact date for the upgrade, or even an estimated time frame, it’s nice to know Motorola cares enough about its customers to make at least some information readily available. With Motorola’s update speed in the past, we would be surprised if its latest handsets weren’t updated before the end of the year.

It can now be clearly seen that the latest models from different smartphone manufacturers will be sporting Android Lollipop and we can’t wait. All users are very curious of how different it will be from the iOS 8 of Apple.
