Motorola has now made the gold Moto 360 official and listed the smartwatch on its site as “Coming Soon”. The new hue is officially dubbed Champagne Gold and comes alongside a new Light Metal version of the Moto 360. Both of the new metal smartwatches feature an 18mm metal band of the same color, while still remaining interchangeable. That selection of other bands will also be increasing, as Motorola will be selling more variants of their own bands as well as bands created with partners.

Motorola has also introduced a software feature called My Design that allows you to create and customize your own watch face. This has been long requested by users who want to create their personal watch face. Finally, Motorola introduced Moto Body, a fitness app to track steps, heart rate, distance and calories burned. It will then take all of that information and come up with fitness goals to keep you on the right track.

The software features will be available in the next few days via an update. The new bands and models are listed as coming soon and the prices for the metal models are set at $299 for Light Metal and $329 for Champagne Gold.

I did not think I would like it, but it is gorgeous. I am holding out for the v2 of this watch though. I think that Moto has a little ways to go before I buy one.

I agree. I like the SmartWatch idea, but I think version one of these watches have some room for improvement, particularly on the battery side of things.

Battery has been improved with last month’s update. I’m getting 2 days of battery life out of mine 40 hours on avg.
