Sling TV, announced at CES last month, is a new service from the company that brought you the Slingbox that delivers live TV to your home without a cable company. Sling TV is available on Android or iOS, the Fire TV devices, Roku LT and higher devices as well as OS X and Windows 7 and above. The basic service costs $20 a month and comes with 15 channels.
- Food Network
- Travel Channel
- Adult Swim
- Cartoon Network
- Disney Channel
- ABC Family
- El Rey Network
There are three additional packages available for $5 each that offer more sports, kids or news programming, depending on your interests.
To kick off the launch of the service, Sling has a deal with Amazon that will get you a free Amazon Fire TV Stick ($39 value) or $50 off an Amazon Fire TV if you pay for 3 months of Sling TV service, which will set you back $60. Both of Amazon’s streaming devices have been highly praised for their ease of use and they support basically every streaming service out there. If you were considering either device and Sling TV sounds like it might be a fit for your viewing habits, then this is a great deal.
