According to a new announcement at SXSW, Google is planning to release an API to developers that will allow any app to be integrated into Google Now. Aparna Chennapragada, Director of Product Management for Google Now, was the one who made the announcement. She talked about how the API will allow any app to create an information card for Google Now, giving you a one-stop hub for quick info.

Chennapragada also answered some questions about the integration and the future of Google Now. When dealing with the same information from conflicting app sources, Google Now will determine which app is your preference and display the information only from that app. As for the future of Google Now, its key feature will remain personalized information. Chennapragada gave the example of an upcoming feature that will show ride queue times when you’re at an amusement park, a feature inspired by her own recent trip to Disneyland.

The API should be available to developers soon, with no clear release date yet.
