HTC’s One E9 shows off its 5.5-inch display and rear camera in new photos

The One M9 was only just announced, but based on some information leaked ahead of an official announcement, and even a few photos, HTC may get even more attention for its next handset. As revealed by Engadget, the One E9 looks to be a bigger, flatter and more Desire Eye-like handset that shuns the curves of the One M9 and throws in a bigger display for good measure.

The new handset, which doesn’t have an official announcement or release date just yet, will reportedly feature a 5.5-inch display, and it could very well be a Quad HD screen, unlike the One M9′s 1080p HD display. The One E9 could feature a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek under the hood, which would be a departure from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor offered by the One M9.

The upcoming smartphone could also feature a 13-megapixel camera on the front, while another variant of the upcoming handset might feature the 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera.

As far as a launch date goes, or where the E9 might even make landfall, there’s nothing concrete just yet. However, HTC has previously teased that they could announce something else in March, so the E9 could be a likely candidate.

What do you think of the E9?

Competition for their own phone? Seems dumb, but maybe attract some phablet fans

It’s a sleek and eye-catching design. However, the resolution will be second to most of the newer high-end phones coming out, and I suspect the hardware won’t be high-end either. I get the impression that this is a mid-range phablet.
