Cyanogen OS 12 passes certification, will hit OnePlus One in coming days

Good news, OnePlus One owners. According to OnePlus’ co-founder, Carl Pei, Cyanogen OS 12 has just passed certification, and you can expect to update to hit handsets within the next few days.

With the release of Cyanogen OS 12, OnePlus One owners will essentially have two choices when it comes to official Lollipop-based firmwares. Other than Cyanogen OS, OnePlus recently released its own Oxygen OS, another lightly modded ROM closely related to stock Android. While OnePlus One owners can expect to see more Oxygen OS updates in the future, we aren’t sure just how many more Cyanogen OS updates will hit the handset. So enjoy it while you can.

It wouldn’t be entirely impossible to see Cyanogen OS 12 start to rollout this weekend, but you can probably expect to see the update starting early next week. If Cyanogen OS 12 comes to your phone, make sure to let us know in the comments below.
